Announcement: End of Quarter 3

First off, I want to personally thank all of you for contributing to the club the past couple of days–whether you stayed after school yesterday to bake or you were at the cafeteria to sell the cupcakes. I want to especially thank Jae Eun, Jihoon, Jun & Beom Jun for a job well done on their first fundraiser. The bake sale was a tremendous success and we sold all the products that we had. We earned 166,000KRW in profit.

In addition to the $500 we sent to HQ last semester; we hit the $1,000 (1,000,000KRW) mark for the year today. This is an amazing feat and I wanted to share with you all what we’ve accomplished so far. I guess we would be able to pay for more windows on the new school in Matopeni.

Again, thank you all for contributing to the club and I genuinely hope all of you have an amazing spring break.

Buy Chocolate Grams!

Imagine a dark dank room without that manmade sunlight–what was it called again….lightbulbs! Now look around you and to your left is a wooden, hundred year old bench, rows of them behind and in front of you. The wood is cracked in many places with an army of mosquitoes swarming around your head. The blackboard at the front of the room is old, dusty, and more white than it is black. The windows are cracked or broken and old–maybe ten year old textbooks lie in front of you. Yes you are sitting in a classroom in a Kenyan slum. And yes…children attend this school. Now think about your school and realize how lucky you are. Anyway. This would be the children’s primary school. And they want to keep learning to bring about change in their communities. Otherwise. Out into the real world where your hands get dirty and you earn less than minimum wage in a repeating cycle of monotonous poverty. Help The Supply–the non-profit that builds secondary schools in impoverished communities. Help these kids. And guide them on their path to success and being the change they want to see brought about in their communities.

I know you’re thinking that what can 2,000 won chocolate grams be of help. But trust me. They help. Every little bit counts. And you can change a child’s life by giving them an education–something we all probably take for granted.Remember…your mind is stronger than your body. Get up from that couch (or chair). Open your laptop and order your chocolate grams right now. Your lives; the children’s lives; the communities’ futures; and the fate of the world will be changed for the better.
